West Alternative High's primary concern is the individual student.  It has been created and structured specifically to serve students whose educational needs may not be matched by more traditional high school programs.  Due to the complex nature of our school population, we work with each student on an individual basis.

To attend our school, students must have successfully completed 5.0 credits.  An application form can be accessed through the front office, located at 10120 Frontier Place NW, Silverdale.

Below are the four steps that are necessary in the application process:

• Complete an application (signature required).
• Provide a current academic transcript.
• Provide an immunization record with application if coming from outside CK School District.
• Take a reading and math placement test.

Once all entrance requirements are met, the student is placed on a waiting list until space is available.

The next step is an interview set up by the school.  During the interview process, it is preferable to have a parent or guardian with you.  If you are a special education student or have an active IEP, you need to talk to Terri Schaaf in Special Services, 360-662-1040.

As an incoming student, you will be responsible for your academic progress.  Your advising team, as well as every other staff member, will work with you as an individual to support you in your effort to complete your high school education, and to provide a safe and positive learning environment where you feel accepted as an individual.  Continues enrollment in our program is based on periodic evaluations of attendance, course progress, and other factors considered on an individual basis by staff.
